B'more

We went on our first official family vacation: Baltimore for the first week of July! We survived our first plane ride, Chloe met lots of new friends and family members, we celebrated the 4th of July, and spent plenty of time in Milly and Gundor's beautiful garden. It was a very relaxing and fun holiday! Click here to see more photos of everyone in Baltimore!

Block Party in Pictures

Yesterday Panda and I went to the Kenmore Street Block Party with Jill and Simon. It was cool and cloudy but we still had a good time.

Panda Loves Slinging

Here we are in the kitchen at Kenmore in our new favorite position in the moby sling. So nice for Mommy to be able to use both hands!

Sitting Up

Chloe is gaining impressive neck strength! She loves to sit up and look around (supported a bit)

Peek-A-Boo

We found a new sling we like better than the Moby wrap! Chloe gets to sleep in a snazzy hammock all day...sweet Panda

Mommy and Baby

Sadly, today Mark headed back to work. So it is my first day with Chloe on my own...I even changed a diaper this morning! His week of paternity leave was magical and I know we both wish it could have lasted forever. Chloe and I miss him so much and can't wait for him to get home. Above is Chloe and me on Day 2.

This is Chloe yesterday morning...looking gorgeous! I love my sweet sweet baby!

Baby Shower #2

How lucky am I to be given not one but two showers?? My mom's relatives gathered together at the Fondue Stube (yum yum, Carol!) for cheese, chocolate, cake, presents and chatting. It was a blast! Click here to see more photos from the Baby Shower.

Grandma almost made it...she even had her hat on! But at the last minute she decided to bail.

Happy Valentines Day

I know, it's not Valentine's Day anymore...it's President's Day. But I wanted to post some pictures from earlier this weekend, so just close your eyes and go back in time to Saturday, February 14th.

First thing in the morning, Mark surprised me with a gorgeous pink heart shaped change purse from Louis Vuitton! What a fun and fabulous way to start the day!

Here I am ready for a V-Day workout.

I set the table for our little dinner party. There was a little theme...

Ryan, Lauren, Sam and Steve came over for dinner at 7.

We had a great time and indulged in a heart shaped red velvet cake w/ pink cream cheese frosting for dessert. How cute!

So Big

I'm getting so big and it is getting harder and harder every day to find clothes that a.) fit and b.) look decently stylish! I'm really looking forward to having the baby for so many reasons! I'm excited to meet her of course, but I'm also dying to wear real clothes again and not look like a beached whale.

To add some pressure to my wardrobe decision, today is randomly gorgeous! Sunny and warm. It makes me so happy but, at the same time, confused because I can't fall back on my old trick: a million layers of black sweaters topped off with a big coat and a well worn pair of Ughs. Soon I will be off to lunch with Julienne (yummy honey walnut shrimp awaits!) and after many costume changes this is what I have come up with as suitable to leave the house in. How do I look? be nice...

Obligatory Pregnant Bikini Picture

As promised....

This is what I look like in a bikini these days. Yikes! Click on the photo of me to view more of Marks photos from our vacation.

Oh! Fun memory: shortly after this photo was taken I had a seriously embarrassing wardrobe malfunction! This was, of course, the one time we went to the main pool and there was actually a crowd to witness my humiliating moment. I was bending over to pick up my towel and my top broke. The clasp just snapped in half and my big pregnant boobs popped out in front of everyone! To make matters worse I gave out a little involuntary shriek which of course just brought everyone's attention to the fact that there were loose boobs flying everywhere. Fantastic.

Babymoon: A Photo Journal

We have returned to the arctic tundra known as Chicago from our glorious babymoon. We had a lovely time and hope to go back to Naples some day. We had great weather, great food, a surprisingly huge hotel room and a pool to ourselves everyday! It was fab!

A last minute change of plans forced us to drive across the Florida peninsula from Ft. Lauderale Airport to Naples via the desolate highway 75, A.K.A. "Alligator Alley." Little did we know, the journey would be one of the highlights of the trip!

Things got off to a great start when Mark splurged on a convertible to indulge me. It made our trip across Alligator Alley a real adventure. Plus, a white Sebring....how FL is that?

At night we saw stars...how romantic!
And there was a fire pit at the hotel to keep us toasty warm after the sun went down.
There were always lots of hot bodies on the beach

But we tended to hang out by the pool. This is the lap pool at the hotel which was basically right outside our room. I guess everyone else preferred the main pool, so we pretty much had this one all to ourselves, which was perfectly fine with us! It takes a lot of guts to rock a bikini in the seventh month of pregnancy...but not so much if no one's looking.MAIN POOL...

Every night around 6pm we saw a spectacular sunset! It is quite the thing to do in Naples!
Relishing our coupledom before our family officially becomes a threesome...er, a trio? Yeah that sounds better.
PROOF THAT WE SAW ALLIGATORS!!!!
We stopped by Everglades National Park on the way back to the Airport to witness some wildlife...It was WILD!
Then we saw our last sunset and it was time to "hit the road."

The End!

P.S. I will post some of Mark's photography (including pregnant bikini..shudder) when he gets a chance to upload his roll. He is a much better cameraman that I am, so you'll get the artsy vacation shots. He also tends to take a lot of pictures of me...so if you're curious to see my sun burn, my chlorine hair and/or my bulging belly please check back soon!
